2009.05.25 – Ukraine-Belarus and Ukraine-Moldova Business Councils’ Joint Assembly

Ukraine-Belarus and Ukraine-Moldova Business Councils’ Joint Assembly was held on May 25, 2009 in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine.

Questions on agenda were primary connected to the current state and perspectives of Ukraine-Belarus, Ukraine-Moldova and Moldova-Belarus business cooperation, as well as to ways of the crisis situation in economy of Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus overcoming. The perspective of Moldavian and Belarusian enterprises participation in “Metallurgy and engineer”, international exhibition to be held in 2010 – 2011 was additionally discussed. Ukrainian and Belarusian agents were welcomed to take part in “Made in Moldova”, national diversified exhibition conducted each year.

All participants of the Assembly visited the opening ceremony and work of this year’s “Metallurgy and engineer” international exhibition to see the strong industrial potential of Zaporizhzhya land with their own eyes.

In measures of the meeting business and investment proposals were presented by the participants of the event. Bilateral negotiations conducted by the representatives of Ukrainian, Belarusian and Moldavian institutions as well as companies visit allowed to see business potential of the region and to make plans about the future mutual collaboration development.

To underline the importance of the meeting governor of Zaporizhzhya region Mr. Oleksandr Nefyodov mentioned the following: “Zaporizhzhya region is a developing land, possessing strong economic potential in metallurgy, engineering, energy and agricultural sectors. The meeting is organized to become the place of diverse ideas and opinions vivid exchange, which we hope will result into development of economic contacts between our countries and overcoming of economic crisis influence”.
