2012.11.06 – Kherson CCI and Kherson Customs: the beginning of the joint efforts

On November, 6 the president of Kherson CCI Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova and the chief of Kherson Customs Mr. Vitaly Bulyuk had signed the cooperation agreement between the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kherson Customs. The signing had taken place in the presence of employees of both organizations.

At the beginning of the event the head of customs control department Mr. Vladimir Vasilenko had mentioned efficient and mutual trust based collaboration between the Kherson Customs and KCCI. The top-priority task at this stage is the development of a proper information infrastructure to support business activity that undoubtedly will favor the improvement of business and investment climate in the region.

The guests were greeted by Ms. Valentina Udod, the First Vice-president of Kherson CCI on Expert Examination and Certification – department, which employees work most closely with the Customs Services. Ms. Udod had expressed her gratitude to the Customs for joint organization of specialized seminars and round-table discussions, considering that such events make it possible to support feedback with business, to assist entrepreneurs in successful implementation of foreign-economic activity and efficient solution of problems in case of necessity. 

The key event of the meeting was the signing of bilateral agreement aimed at actions improvement and efforts coordination of these institutions in order to protect commodity producers’ interests in the sphere of foreign-economic activity, to protect consumers’ interests and also state’s interests in foreign markets.

Within the scope of the agreement the KCCI and the Customs intend to collaborate in several areas. First of all, the parties will seek to exchange legal acts concerning registration and issuance of documents that are connected with realization of foreign-economic activity and also exchange of referral, analytical and statistical information about FEA issues.

Summing up the meeting Ms. Viktoria Ostroumova had expressed the hope that the agreement will enhance the collaboration between KCCI and Kherson Customs. According to her, the signing was just a formalization of the long-standing partnership between these institutions and it will continue to facilitate the elaboration of coordinated policy to promote the development of export of Ukrainian goods and services and also to raise foreign investments for the regional economics.

The head of Kherson Customs had stressed the fact that implementation of the signed agreement will be aimed at increase of effectiveness of cooperation between both structures in order to assist Kherson entrepreneurs involved in foreign economic activity and to enforce their rights.
