The forum was initiated by Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria and the Trade Department of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine.

Within the framework of the Forum, on June 10, 2013 there was held a seminar for directors and managers of regional Ukrainian CCIs - "Experience of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber." Austrian colleagues shared their experience in organization of CCI's activities due to Austrian foreign trade promotion, support and protection of business interests, vocational training and retraining. They also spoke about legislative aspects of CCI's activities in Austria, about the structure, basic functions and personnel policy of Austrian Chambers. Since the Austrian model of Economic Chamber presupposes compulsory membership, the benefits of this organizational model were considered particulary.

It should be noted that Austria is among the world's five largest investors, and Vienna is not just a world-renowned cultural and tourist center, but also a place that houses offices and the headquarters of many major international companies and multinational corporations.

Active work of Trade Departments of Austrian diplomatic corps in foreign countries surely contributes to efficience of Austrian business on foreign markets. An excellent example of such work is the Trade Department of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine, headed by Mr. Gregor Postl, Trade Consellor.

On June, 11 the UCCI President Mr. Gennady Chizhikov met with the AFEC President Dr. Christoph Leitl.  As a result of the meeting, there were reached agreements on the full support of AFEC regarding the European integration of Ukrainian business. There was also signed a Cooperation Agreement between these two Chambers. Austria's experience in supporting national business on domestic and foreign markets is recognized by world experts as the best in Europe and the world.

Mr. Chizhikov invited his colleague Mr. Leitl to visit Ukraine within a business mission in 2014. Mr. Chizhikov also met with the head of the Austrian Federal Association of Manufacturers Dr. Hubert Berch.

On the same day the economic potential of various regions of Ukraine was presented to Austrian business-circles. President of the Kherson CCI Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova made a presentation of Kherson region, of its benefits that give potential investors the opportunity to work in an industrial area located 10 km from Kherson city. For a more complete demonstration of natural-resources potential, economic and investment opportunities of the region, Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with a local TV channel "VTV Plus" have created a special presentation film. Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea have also made their presentations.

After the presentation, there were held direct negotiations between the representatives of Ukrainian and Austrian companies. Representatives of Kherson legal firm discussed with Austrian businessmen the possibilities of cooperation in the field of tourism and hospitality, commercial and retail properties, processing plants establishing.
