2013.10.15-17 – II international forum for steady development “GREEN MIND”.

For two consecutive years now the forum is held under the patronage of Ministry of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine at support of international and European organizations, government authorities, research establishments, public and business organizations, mass media. This year it joined over 400 participants. They are representatives of ministries and departments (Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, State ecological inspection of Ukraine, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, State environmental investment agency of Ukraine), United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine, All-Ukrainian  Non-Governmental Organization “Alive Planet”, All-Ukrainian Non-Governmental Organization “Pure Wave”. Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the forum for the second time.

In nine plenary sessions held within the framework of the forum the special attention was paid to the establishment of the most effective tools of a green economy concept in the Eastern Partnership countries, advantages and risks connected with the change of technical regulation system in the sector of environmental protection as the result of Ukrainian normative legal base adaptation to EU legislation. Minister of ecology and natural resources Mr. Oleg Proskuriakov congratulated the participants and noted that international forum “GREEN MIND” is an important informative and educational event in Ukrainian life; it provides specialists with an opportunity to improve their knowledge, exchange experience for the purpose of further development of environmentally oriented society in Ukraine.

Within the framework of business programme of the forum conferences, seminars and trainings, presentations of ecological innovations, projects, investment offers based on the best practice for innovation of cleaner production technologies and integrated management systems were held.     

Among the questions discussed in the first day sessions there were:

-   role of Ukrainian CCI in providing steady business development;
 -  strategic lines of fuel and energy complex development; 
 -  best practices and decisions in green building etc.

At the first forum day the awarding ceremony was held for winners of XII All-Ukrainian competition “The ecological quality and safety” founded in 2001 as a civil initiative in order to promote best achievements of local enterprises, establishments, organizations in the sector of cleaner production technologies and ecological management systems.

During plenary sessions of the second forum day the dialog took place between officials and businessmen discussed issues of environmental regulation, reforms of state control system and its regulatory influence on the enterprises of all economic sectors. Moreover it is of great current interest in advance of signing EU–Ukraine association agreement.
Another topic of discussion was issue of food security, technical regulation and  ecologization of agroindustrial complex including best practice and experience for innovation of energy-efficient technologies, alternative methods of agriculture including its biologization, issues of environmental labeling, international practice.

On the third day the participants of the International forum exchanged experience and discussed perspective development of corporate social responsibility of business in Ukraine. Within the framework of the plenary session the following issues were considered: sustainable markets establishment, environmental protection and organization of social integration; they were marked as key goals of cooperation between business, civic organizations and authorities. Initial condition of these relationships is a concept approved by United Nations Global Compact and insisted on the importance of commercial organizations involvement in solving global social problems, taking into account strategies and activities coordination with global measures to minimize negative impact on the environment and improve social development. The participants of the session discussed basic principles and methods of SWR programs innovation, got acquainted with the main practices and strategies of SWR of Ukrainian companies “SUN InBev Ukraine”, “Tetra Pak”, “Metinvest” etc.      
Special attention was paid to the issues of investments in steady development and promotion of steady consumption because social initiatives can not be taken appropriate without cultivation of responsible consumption.
