2011.10.05-07 – The Third Plenary session of Cleaner Production Program was held in Kakhovka
The third plenary session of the 5th training cycle of Ukrainian and Norwegian “Cleaner Production and Energy Efficiency” program was held in Kakhovka District Culture Centre named after Frunze in the period October, 5 – 7.
Within the session, Mr. Oleksandr Yeryomin, the National CPEE lecturer in Ukraine, presented the key points of business economics, business accounting, analyzed the difference between the “investment” and “financing” notions. During the lecture “Business Analysis by the Du Pont Model” and “Break Even Analysis” materials were presented. Besides, the participants considered the form of the final report and requirements towards presentation of the developed projects to be shown in November. Mr. Yeryomin considered the current state of the reports together with each student, suggested some changes and provided several related recommendations.

When deciding upon the city of the Kherson region to hold the 5th CPEE Program, Kakhovka was chosen due to the convenient location of many leading companies of the region. Some of them, being the valid members of the Kherson CCI, e.g. Chumak JSC and PetroNick Ltd., now participate in the training. Specialists of other companies involved like Megatek Ukraina Ltd., Berislav Bread Factory Ltd., Private Company “SH.A.N.S.” and others received the information about the Program from other sources.
Program organizers are pleased with the fact that the Norwegian methodology is accepted as effective and useful by local authorities – head of regional Development, Construction, Architecture and Housing Department of Kakhovka district state administration, Chief Architect of the district Mr. Yuriy Sabatovskiy is also taking part. Economical specialist of Municipal Production Office of Kakhovvodokanal (Kakhovka Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant) is also participating on the recommendation of the chief engineer of the Plant, who graduated from the 2nd CPEE Program in Kherson.
We do believe that in a month, all students will show the positive results that their companies either already received or are expecting for them in the near future. The Kherson CCI wishes all the participants good luck and hopes to see all during the final reports presentation in November!
