The objective of the seminar was to promote the protection of copyright and related rights, public awareness in Kherson region of the illegal use of copyright and related rights in restaurant business network, night clubs, television and the Internet.

The matter of the fight against Internet piracy was covered by the deputy-head of Ukrainian anti-piracy association (www.apo.kiev.ua) Netetskiy Sergiy Feodosiyevich. In his report he spoke about what is piracy and whose rights are violated, what piracy looks like in the Internet. He also spoke about camcorders (the ones who carry out illegal video recording on digital cameras in cinemas) and their responsibilities under the current legislation of Ukraine.

As for the methods of fighting piracy in Kherson region, they were covered by the representative of the Security service of Ukraine in Kherson region Zimin V.V. and the representative of Directorate for Combating Economic Crime Demyanyuk V.V., who spoke to the audience about the anti-picary measures in Kherson and the region, the responsibility of the violators, carried out the explanatory work considering infringed copyright and related rights, how to act in case of rights violation.

The matter of copyright and related rights in the network of cafes, restaurants, bars, night clubs, television and radio companies was covered by the state inspector of Copyright and Related Rights Makarenko Lyubov Oleksandrivna. She spoke to the owners of cafes, bars, restaurants, night clubs network, who were present at the seminar, about the rights of the authors of musical works, which are played and these institutions, about how to avoid copyright violations and penalties, about the liability of offenders under the current legislation of Ukraine.
