2011.09.05–07 – Kherson CCI participated in Ukrainian-Canadian business forum
Ukrainian-Canadian business forum was held on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada with the support of Ivano-Frankovsk Regional Administration and Ivano-Frankovsk CCI to promote international economic cooperation and intensification of partnership relations between Ukraine and Canada.
In this event participated representatives of the authorities and business circles of Ukraine and Canada: the Chairman of Ivano-Frankovsk Regional State Administration Mr Mikhail Vyshyvanok, the Head of the Regional Council Mr Alexander Sych, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in Canada Mr Igor Ostash, President of Canadian-Ukrainian CCI Mr Zenon Potichnyj, first vice-president of the Ukrainian CCI Mr Victor Yanovskyj, representatives of ministries and departments of Ukraine and Canada.


Business forum was held in the form of “round tables” in 6 areas: “Financial instruments and the stock market in the context of foreign investment: panel debates”, “Petrochemical sector”, “Alternative energy”, “Medicine and recreation: the potential of development areas and opportunities of Ukrainian market”, “Agricultural sector”, “Waste recycling: technology and equipment”.
There also was discussed cooperation of business circles of both countries in cause of increase competitiveness of national economics and implementation of joint investment and innovation programs and projects to find partners for cooperation in trade-economic, industrial and investment spheres.
President of the Canadian-Ukrainian CCI Mr Zenon Potichnyj noted that there are many cultural and business links between Ukraine and Canada, and these links become closer each year. However, for improvement the Ukrainian-Canadian relations the investment climate should be improved, because nowadays it isn't favorable in Ukraine, unfortunately. Canadian side is ready to share experience and is interested in further cooperation, particularly in animal farming, horticulture, manufacture and sale of agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, waste recycling, petrochemical industry, alternative energy. There is every reason to believe that bilateral cooperation will continue to deepen for the implementation of intergovernmental agreements in both countries.
