In the period from 29th to 31st of March in ”Kazanskaya Yarmarka” Exhibition Center  took place the 2nd specialized exhibition and Congress “Clean water. Kazan 2011”. The events were organized by the Ministry of Building, Architecture and Housing of Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Water Association (Moscow), JSC “Kazanskaya Yarmarka” supported by the Ministry of Ecology and Environmental Assets of Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan City Council.

President of KCCI Victoria Ostroymova participated in the Congress by invitation of Russian Water Association. Goals and objectives of congress-exhibition “Clean water. Kazan” are coincided with objectives of International Ecological Forum “Clean city. Clean river. Clean planet” organized by Kherson CCI.

The work of “Clean water. Kazan” Congress started with plenary session “Development of water management in Russia”. In his report Republic’s Prime-Minister Mr Halykov noted that modern technologies, which are introduced to the water supply sphere today, allow solving variety of existing problems. In particular they are able to make the process of municipal services assignment clear, to economize time and facilities. But the most important thing – they assist in solving ecological problems and improve quality of life.

Advisor of Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Board director of Russian Water Association Mr Katkov paid more attention to the realization of Federal goal-oriented program “Clear water” for 2011-2017. Minister of Building, Architecture and Housing of Republic of Tatarstan Mr Fajzyllin touched on question about water and waste-water services in Republic of Tatarstan.

Besides plenary session there also took place seminars, presentations of new projects, “round tables” with scientists and practitioners. Round tables were dedicated to questions of rational use of water resources, effective management of water consumption, realization of Federal goal-oriented program “Clear water” in Russia, innovative technologies for modernization of water utilization system.

Over 60 Russian enterprises, organizations and foreign companies participated in the exhibition. Exposition introduced the wide spectrum of equipment and services for resumption and conservation of water resources, municipal and industrial water supply, maintenance of pipeline system, heating and hot water supply, project designing, recycling of waste waters, water bottling, and also industrial enterprises’ achievements and their projects in different water industry spheres were introduced.

During exhibition a bottled water sampling contest was held. Besides this for the first time an Educational event “Clean Water Day” for Kazan school students took place.

The fact that exhibition and Congress “Clean water. Kazan” were passing simultaneously allowed participants to share practical experience, combine demonstration of new technologies with discussion of main industry problems, emphasize problems of water resources, to draw attention of public, state and commercial structure’s representatives to the rational use of water resources and to the ecological problems in this sphere.
