2012.03.12 — KCCI participated in the 3rd Turkmen-Ukrainian business forum
The Kherson CCI President Ms Victoria Ostroumova participated in the 3rd Turkmen-Ukrainian business forum which took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine in Kiev on March 12.
The Forum was held within the framework of 3-day visit of the President of Turkmenistan Mr Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Ukraine and brought together the members of the Governments of both countries, the heads of ministries and departments, representatives of government agencies and business circles of Turkmenistan and Ukraine, as well as over a hundred of the leading Ukrainian companies specializing in the energy sector, oil and gas industry, construction and transport industries, financial and banking sphere, the sphere of innovative technologies, agriculture, food industry, etc. The forum participants expressed mutual readiness of the two countries to build up efficient cooperation in a wide range of areas.
A number of reports and speeches focused on various aspects and proposals to widen the volume and nomenclature of bilateral trade between the two countries, to intensify cooperation at the intergovernmental and business level, etc. were presented during the business forum. As expected, the proposals on the prospects for cooperation in the power industry aroused keen interest among the forum participants. A video film about Turkmenistan and Ukraine that allowed the forum participants to learn more about achievements of the two countries in the economic, social and cultural spheres was broadcast during the business forum.
A bright result of the business forum was signing the Agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine that, undoubtedly will promote the further activization of the Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation.
Upon conclusion of the plenary sitting, the bilateral talks and meetings between the members of the Turkmen delegation and their Ukrainian colleagues as well as businessmen of Ukraine continued the business part of the forum.
