On August, 04, 2009, Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Pakistan in Ukraine, visited Kherson Region at the invitation of the Kherson CCI. According to the previously negotiated arrangements between Victoria Ostroumova, President of the KCCI, and Mr. Ambassador his visit included a number of meetings and a short tour of several recreation and retreat centers and camps in Kherson region.

During the meeting in conference-hall of The Kherson CCI, The Chamber’s directorship and Director of the local Business Support and Development Fund discussed various directions of the Ukrainian-Pakistan cooperation and ways of its further development.

Then, Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan visited Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Oles Gonchar where he was shown the book exhibition “Pakistan is the country of The Sun”. He also got acquainted with the library’s recourses, its departments and centers. During his tour of the library, the General Director Nadezhda Korotun told Mr. Ambassador about the history, today’s activities and future development perspectives of the Regional Library.

A short tour to Skadosk Region was organized in order to acquaint the highly-respectable guest with recreation and tourism opportunities of the Kherson Region. He met the Head of Skadosk District State Administration V. Lazarev. He also visited the child halth improvement center “Tavriya”, family recreation and retreat center “Tavriyskye Zori” and two holiday camps “Dolphin” and “Tavriya Asterism” for children and youth.

It is no coincidence that Skadovsk Region was decided on. It is there where nature and climatic factors make their best combination for children's health-improvement and summer rest. Kherson Region is ready to receive children of different nations who will be offered not only a summer rest, but also wonderful subject-oriented educational programs. It was discussed with Mrs. Tatiana Brykova, Kherson CCI President’s Advisor and Director of Tourist Cluster “A Child Dream Country”.
