2009.06.04-05 – Pridnestrovian Investment Forum
The Forum held with the assistance of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pridnestrovie. Representatives of regional state administrations of Russia and Ukraine, international banking and financial structures, potential investors and Chambers’ of Commerce and Industry representatives made the majority of the participants.
The Forum was aimed at presentation of the perspective opportunities of capital investment in Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, region’s national economy development and effective dialog between the local and foreign investors, projects’ developers organization. In total there were 92 investment projects in various fields presented: 24 projects – in agriculture and food processing, 21 – in industry, 13 – in construction, 3 – in public education, 13 – in housing and municipal services, 10 – in recreation and tourism, 4 – innovations and 4 – in health and human services. In such a way Pridnestrovie declared its will and readiness to collaborate with foreign investors. Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has reliable legal guarantees for foreign investors to protect their interests and safety of invested capital, as well as favorable tax regime.
During The Forum holding, Russian JSC «Inter RAO ES» and Ukrainian «Spetstechservice» company agreed the «Dnestenergo» project concerning building of electric power transmission lines from Tiraspol to Rybnitsa, which will allow CJSC «Moldova GRES» to export an electric power to the markets of Germany, Italy and Greece. JSC «Inter RAO ES» has also shown interest towards Dubossar hydroelectric station reconstruction project. Management of Russian company is planning to invest about $80 mln. in capital stock and modernization of Moldova GRES.


Poland Delegation on Moldova, Armenian “Artsafruht” company and representatives of Odessa and Kishinev travel agencies showed interest to Dniestr commercial flotation and creation of tourism center in Kamenka City. Offers of CJSC “Kamenka Canning Plant” occurred to be interesting for Taganrog and Rostov Chambers of Commerce and Industry representatives.
French businessmen found the Pridnestrovian Grigoriopol Region’s projects concerning the cultivation of animal products and production of pea seeds, grant project of reprofiling the Malaeshta Village Hospital to become a house for the aged as interesting for them.
The World’s Bank representative participating in the Investment Forum declared his intention to realize the social-economic investments programme of $2 mln. for Pridnestrovie.
450 official participants and visitors, including 70 guests from 12 world countries, and representatives of 49 foreign delegations took part in the Investment Forum work on June, 4 – 5.
The Forum was also visited by official representatives of The European Union, The European Commission, The World’s Bank, The International Council Scientific Exchange, The Association of Moldova Foreign Investors, The International Investment Fund.
