In terms June 4 – 5, 2009 Mr. Serhiy Kocherzhenko, Vice-President of the Kherson CCI and Hanna Syrchina, International Cooperation Centre representative participated in the II Economic Forum «Ukraine-Poland». This year’s Lublin event was dedicated to new trials appearing in measures of Ukrainian and Polish regional collaboration development solution. Forum was again generously powered by Self-Government of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland and Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin.

During the Forum, which was aimed at direct contacts between regional authorities and business-representatives establishment, actual problems of mutually beneficial economic and cross-border collaboration, namely legislation, near-border draft, customs payments and European Union aid funds were on agenda. According to Mr. Krzysztof Grabczuk, Marshal of Lublin Voivodeship, this Forum has become the first major European event, making the ground for vivid thoughts and ideas exchange, aimed at problematic questions solution, regional cooperation possibilities discussion by not just official persons but also business-circles representatives.

Cultural and tourist sectors were defined to be of high priority for bilateral cooperation development. Ukrainian experts proposed non-metallic mineral resources and mineral water deposits development as prospective cooperation directions.

During his visit to Lublin Vice-President of the Kherson CCI met President of The Regional Chamber of Commerce in Lublin Mr. Marek Wagner. After open and fruitful negotiations concerning the potential of Kherson and Lublin interregional business-collaboration Chambers signed the Cooperation Agreement, declaring all possible assistance to the local businessmen in their wish to widen their activities horizons. Same beneficial was Mr. Kocherzhenko’s conversation with Mr. Wac?aw Pawlak, Director General of Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.
