On June 15, in Kherson took place fourth «Cleaner Production and Energy Efficiency» Program in a joint Norwegian - Ukrainian project, implemented by the Norwegian Association of Chartered Engineers TEKNA and Kherson Chamber of Commerce in support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine.

Participation of this company in the Program was made possible thanks to the active position of its new leader Igor Kazakov and leadership of the executive committee of Kherson city council.

The training session began with congratulations of the first deputy mayor of Kherson Vyacheslav Yaremenko. He stressed the importance and necessity for new knowledge of clean production and energy efficiency for the employees of municipal sector, which today remains one of the most energy-intensive sectors of the economy of Ukraine. Pleasant is also the fact that another company housing and communal services of the city - Kherson Central Heating and Power Plant - represented among the participants of the program.

In the first session of the program participants could get acquainted with Dmitry Ruschak, head of the UNDP/GEF for improving the ecological situation of the Dnieper basin. Kherson is a city of cross-border monitoring of the Dnieper water. That is why the GEF is supporting the implementation of «Cleaner Production and Energy Efficiency» Program to Kherson  Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
