Delegation of the Kherson entrepreneurs headed by Mrs. Valentina Udod, First Vice-President of the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Trabzon, Turkey. Representatives of «WJ-Kherson», LTD. and Private Company «The Resources Agency «WJ – Kherson», LTD. Mr. Vladimir Skoropad, the Commercial Director, and Ms. Olga Kolomitseva, the top-manager, joined the delegation. The purpose of the mission was to establish business contacts between the Ukrainian largest grain traders with Turkish grain traders.

Friendly relations between the cities of Kherson and Trabzon are caused by the long-term cooperation of our cities' Mayors within the International Black Sea Club (IBSC), which is an international, non-governmental, voluntary organization possessing the status of Observer in the organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and the special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC). The IBSC which was founded in 1992 now includes 24 cities from 9 countries of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean areas.

The IBSC has also created the Business Council which consists of the business circles and Chambers of Commerce and Industry representatives of the IBSC cities-members. In frames of the Business Council as the real instrument of more professional approach and effective economic cooperation the Trabzon CCI and the Kherson CCI have been collaborating throughout the years. As the result of a long-term partnership between our organizations, The Protocol of Sister Chambers was signed on November 30, 2007.

During attendance of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry office the representatives of the Ukrainian delegation had an opportunity to study the structure and main fields of activity of the Chamber. According to Mr. Hakan Gurkhan, General Secretary for the Chamber, in total on the territory of Turkey there work almost 350 Chambers, including artisan ones. Today the quantity of the Trabzon CCI members make up almost 7500 companies, while the quantity of artisan Chambers' members is 40 000.

Each year The Chamber organizes numerous official business and non-official meetings, aimed at cooperation strengthening between regional enterprises and other districts of the country. The representatives of Ukrainian delegation had an opportunity to attend an exhibition of children inventions, being organized by Trabzon CCI annually.

In measures of the visit the participants of the Kherson delegation met the representatives of Trabzon CCI, headed by The Chairman of the Board Mr. Suat Hacisalihoglu. The parties carried out bilateral business negotiations. There participated executives, whose organizations are working on grain products manufacturing, as well as representatives of grain trading companies. According to the statistics data, enterprises of the mentioned profile show big interest towards establishment of business contacts with Ukrainian partners. Kherson CCI in return studied an opportunity to establish alike relations. During the negotiations, the parties emphasized high mutual interest in regular exchange of commercial offers and accumulated experience. In order to realize the first aim, it was decided to spread the CCI members’ commercial offers via the printed sources and the Internet.

In measures of the visit the representatives of “WJ – Kherson”, LTD. company visited several grain mills and elevators. This visit helped the Kherson grain traders to get acquainted with Turkish organizations’ working conditions and to plan future cooperation with them.
