2012.07.06 – Session of the Association of the Dnieper River Basin CCIs
The meeting was attended by the president of the Ukrainian CCI Mr. Sergey Skrypchenko, the president of the Russian Federation CCI Mr. Sergey Katyryn, the chairman of the Republic Belarus CCI Mr. Mikhail Myatlykov, the deputy governor of the Mogilev executive committee, heads of regional CCIs of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, including representatives of the Association of the RF Central Federal District CCIs, which has a cooperation agreement with the Association of the Dnieper River Basin CCIs.

The program of the session included issues concerning ecological problems of the Dnieper river basin and the development of tourism in these regions. The session was held by the president of the Kherson CCI Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova as a chairlady of the Association.
The representative of the Kherson CCI, coordinator of the organizing committee of the International Ecological Forum "Clean City. Clean River. Clean Planet" Ms. Olha Dyudyaeva presented the regional program "Revival of the Dnieper". The head of the Mogilev Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Mr. Nikolai Yaromchik highlighted in his speech ecological problems of Dnieper and the ways of solving them. Participants of the meeting stressed the necessity of more active attraction of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry to the development and implementation of national and international programs on revival of Dnieper river.

Continuing the discussion on ways of solving environmental problems and searching for ecologically effective tools, there spoke the president of the Dnepropetrovsk CCI Mr. Vitaliy Zhmurenko and the head of the International Cooperation Center of the KCCI Ms. Larissa Ponomarenko. They shared the experience concerning implementation of the Ukrainian-Norwegian program "Clean Production and Energy Efficiency" in Dnepropetrovsk and Kherson region. There were represented the results of 3 session of the program in the Dnepropetrovsk and 5 sessions in Kherson region. There was also a proposal to consider a possibility of applying program at the Belarusian enterprises, for what Ukrainian national lecturers may be involved.

Head of the Department of Tourism of the Belarus Republic Ministry of Sport and Tourism Mr. Vadim Karmazin spoke about the events on promoting development of tourism in Belarus and the possibilities of developing this industry in the super-agglomerations – the members of the Dnieper Association. In particular, in the future it’s envisaged to create an international cross-border route "From the Varangians to the Greeks" through the regions of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Such route may acquire popularity, because the Dnieper River basin is very picturesque and rich for places of resort and historical monuments.
This year Belorussian side plans to prepare technological map of a water route along the Dnieper. Next step is the operation of small and medium business, the development of recreational infrastructure and promotion of tourism product on the market. In other words, creation of cross-border cluster appears to be possible, and serious assistance can be provided by the Association of the Dnieper River Basin CCIs, which has all necessary tools for this.
The president of the Moscow CCI Mr. Leonid Govorov in his speech stressed the importance of ecological issues and suggested to select several business projects, which can be implemented in the sphere of ecological resources saving (for instance, in water supply and drainage). He proposed to realize such projects in the Dnieper region.
Participants of the association have also confirmed and approved the results of the organization’s work during 2010-2011 and have elected a new chairman. The president of the Kherson CCI Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova was superseded by the director of Gomel department of Belarusian CCI Mr. Vasiliy Starovoitov at this public office for the next term.
The session was summed up by the president of the Ukrainian CCI Mr. Sergey Skripchenko, who emphasized in his speech the significance of the Association as the unity of representatives from three Slavic states. The president of the RF CCI Mr. Sergey Katyryn and the chairman of the BelCCI Mr. Mikhail Myatlykov have also approved the Association’s initiative to revitalize activities of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in environment and energy efficiency.
