Conference activity:

Yesterday at the conference hall of the M.Ivanov Institute of Animal Husbandry in Steppe Regions "Askania Nova" – National Research Selection and Genetic Center of Sheep Breeding started the international scientific and practical conference “Animal husbandry of Ukraine: yesterday, today, tomorrow” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of M.Ivanov, a luminary of zootechnical science.

Kherson CCI participated in the conference as the initiator of the project on sheep breeding recovery in Kherson region – "The Golden Fleece of Tavriya". The conference was attended by scientists and stock-breeders from all over Ukraine and the near abroad (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus).

The conference was opened by the director of the institute "Askania Nova" Mr. Vdovichenko. At his suggestion to the M.Ivanov monument there were laid flowers from the participants of the conference. On behalf of International Academy of Agricultural Sciences the participants were greeted by academician-secretary of the Department for Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics Mr. Zhukorsky.

In the course of plenary session the conference participants were congratulated by the representatives of Region and District State Administrations. During the solemn part the leading scientists of Kherson region were presented with a certificates of appreciation.
