2013.06.06-07 - the Third Transnistrian Investment Forum in Tiraspol.
Forum was organized by Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Government, ministries, departments, administrations of cities and regions of Transnistria.
The official part of the Third Transnistrian Investment Forum was attended by the President of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Mr. Yevgeny Shevchuk, the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Soviet Mr. Mikhail Burla, the Chairman of the PMR Government Mr. Petr Stepanov, the head of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia Mr. Mikhail Formuzal, Ambassadors of several countries, representatives of international organizations, including the UN, the EU, the Black Sea club.
The main activities of the Forum - plenary session, round table discussions on different issues, exhibitions, auctions, charity sale of children's crafts - were held at the Government House.
The PMR President Mr. Yevgeny Shevchuk addressed the participants an invitation speech. He made the point that the practice of holding investment forums turned into a good tradition that opens up opportunities for more efficient use of the PMR economic potential and foreign investment attraction.
In his turn, the speaker of the PMR Supreme Soviet Mr. Mikhail Burla said that "participation in the Eurasian integration processes is the one of the essential factors of investments attraction".
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Moldova Mr. Farith Mukhametshin said that on his opinion there in Trasnistria it is possible to create a platform for cross-border partnership of two integration projects - European and Eurasian. He also focused particular attention on the support provided by the Russian Federation. "Budget of Transnistria annually receives humanitarian aid from our country. We should work together to support investment projects, primarily aimed at the high-tech businesses development, and thus contribute to the development of social infrastructure. I am sure that the interest of Russian investors to PMR business will continue,"- he said. The ambassador also said that the volume of investments will increase in 2013, including through non-governmental organizations. Thus, according to Mr. Muhametshin, Autonomous NGO "Eurasian integration" is preparing to implement in PNR several humanitarian projects totally amounted to 60 million USD and aimed at the development of national infrastructure, including the construction of 12 social facilities.
The head of the EU Delegation in Moldova Mr. Dirk Schubel in his speech stressed the importance of business partnership between Transnistria and the EU. He stressed the urgency of supporting the development of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.
"Transnistria and Gagauzia should consolidate in order to solve common problems of the integration processes," - said the national leader of Gagauzia Mr. Formuzal. According to him, consolidation efforts should be primarily focused on the development of border territories' cooperation in the field of economy, culture and education.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Moldova Mr. Sergey Pirozhkov addressed to the forum participants a warm greeting on behalf of the Ukrainian people. The Chairman of the International Black Sea Club Business Council, the President of Taganrog CCI Mr. Alexander Amerkhanov spoke his words of welcome, too.
On the Forum's first day there were signed cooperation agreements: between the Association of European Businesses and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Transnistria, between Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk state administrations and B?l?i municipal government.
Within the framework of 4 round tables - "Industrial Investment Projects", "Projects in the field of health, education and culture", "Investment opportunities in agriculture", "Investment projects in the areas of infrastructure, trade, sports, recreation and tourism" – there were presented 28 investment projects.
The Forum comprised the following activities:
- Plenary Session to discuss the state of the investment and business climate, economic development strategies, legislation and public policy in the investment area of Transnistria.
- Thematic round tables with presentation of commercial, social and humanitarian investment projects.
- Exhibition of investment projects.
- Meeting of foreign participants of the Forum with the leaders of the Republic.
- Business contacts (B2B).
- Charity auction of paintings made by Transnistrian artists.
- Charity sale of crafts made by children from orphanages.
- Demonstration of light industry enterprises' production.
- Consumer Choice Competition of Transnistrian home-made wines
- A visit to the agricultural enterprise "Rustas", LLC
- Visits to historical sites.
