President of  Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry G. Chizhikov, Vice-president S. Svistyl, Director of German-Ukrainian partnership project Folkner Stottsner, representatives of legal services companies and regional Chambers took part  in the event. Famous German business mediator Pr. Renata Dendorfer-Ditges shared her experience of work in mediation centre in Germany.

Business-mediation is a form of dispute resolution alternative to court hearing which allows saving time and money.

Special centers of mediation were created in many German Chambers of Commerce and Industry as far back as 10 years ago. And last year, in that country the Law regulating this form of dispute resolution appeared.

In Ukraine business mediation has been talked of for five years already. In Verkhovna Rada a few bills concerning mediation have already been registered. In the nearest three years, Lviv CCI is planning to implement the pilot project for business mediation development together with German partners. An important part of the project will be a training course in  business-mediation to be held from January till October of 2014.

“Ukraine has set a course for promotion of the mediation concept. In our country as well as in others countries disputes make an integral component of entrepreneurship development. The institution of business mediation will not replace the judiciary system but its development will redound to the Ukrainian business advantage”, said Gennadiy Chizhikov.
