2013.09.27 – Presentation of Polish growing and seeding company “POLAN”
Polish growing and seeding company “POLAN” has introduced to Kherson agrarians its achievements at VII International Investment Forum “Tavrian Horizons: Ecological investment, cooperation, economic development” on 27th of September 2013. Delegation of company representatives headed by Mr. Andrzej Rostworowski arrived in Kherson to represent Poland experience in the sector of selection and production of qualitative vegetable and flower seeds within the framework of “High technologies in the agricultural sector of Kherson region. Organic farming” section.
Founded in 1994 as a result of two Krakow companies merger, “POLAN” (Krakowska Hodowla i Nasiennictwo Ogorodnicze POLAN Sp. Z o.o., www.nasional.pl ) is a successor of longstanding agricultural traditions, which along with modern technologies permit to produce high-quality products. The company is engaged in the selective work and breeds over 110 varieties of vegetables (cucumber, pepper, beans, carrot, radish, onion, garlic, lettuce, red beet, white cabbage, kohlrabi, parsley, dill) and over 140 varieties of flowers (asters, marigold, petunia, geranium, snapdragon, flossflower (ageratum), scarlet sage, sea alyssum). Plants bred by “POLAN” were highly appreciated by Polish and international experts.
Memorandum of “Cooperative work and further business collaboration” was signed between “POLAN” company headed by Mr. Andrzej Rostworowski, Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Ms. Viktoriya Ostroumova, Department of Agricultural Development in Kherson region headed by Mr. Vitaliy Yarmak. It is believed that such partnership will make it possible to hold within the territory of Kherson region workshops and seminars about growing flowers and vegetables, crop growing product quality control taking into account Polish and European experience and specific features of Kherson soil.
