The abovementioned description instructions and its requirements prescribe in Resolution “About the Order and Requirements to food products description” of Ministry, published on its official web-sight (http://minagro.gov.ua/ru/node/10903).

According to proposed Order, manufacturers may describe their products as organic only if it corresponds to the Approval Certificate. And marking by itself must consist of State or Private logotype, which symbolizes organic nature, under which the number of Supervisor is subscribed.  The abovementioned number consists of acronym (identification of certification operator); organic production type reference, certification center code.

Besides, the Ministry proposes in obligatory order note the country of origin, manufacturer and site; per cent of organic ingredients in the ratio of total agricultural components. According to the Resolution, the logotype “Organic” may be used for processed products only if not less 95 % of their ingredients weight are organic.

The Law of Ukraine “About production and trade of agri product and raw materials”, which came into force on October, 2013, regulates operations in the sphere of manufacturing and trade of abovementioned products, determines general rules of organic raw materials production.

According to Organic Federation of Ukraine estimates, domestic consumption of organic agricultural production in money terms during 2013 came out at 12 million euro, and it’s 52% more than during previous year.
