Kherson delegation took part in the conference at the invitation of POLAN, who in 2013, at the International Investment Forum "Tavrian Horizons", signed a tripartite memorandum of cooperation with the Department of Agricultural Development of Kherson Regional State Administration and Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry. POLAN company has successfully worked in the market of vegetable seeds, flowers and herbs for 20 years. Its production was awarded with a gold medal at the Poznań International Fairs “POLAGRA PRO-HORTI” for fourteen times, and was honored with award “The Quality of the Year”.  

 In the course of conference work, representatives of Polish scientific community in the sphere of vegetable selection, seed farming and genetics spoke. Deputy Director of Department on Agricultural Development of Kherson Regional State Administration Margarita Mikhailova introduced agricultural potential of Kherson. Also, in the course of the talks with the company POLAN the agreement was reached on possibility for Kherson farmers to visit this August the Company’s laboratories and fields, for to see samples of products, as well as the certification system, operating in the company. In addition, students of Kherson State Agrarian University discussed the possibility of traineeship in Poland.

    The Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Company “POLAN”, bestowed to its President Andrzej Rostvorovski the Honorary Diploma for the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of agriculture.           

President of KCCI Victoria Ostroumova also met with the Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow Mr. Vitaly Maksymenko and Director of the Cracow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vaclav Andrushko, with whom discussed the possibility and conditions for the participation of representatives of Kherson agricultural companies in Krakow Conference, will be held in autumn, 2014.
