On November 26 in Kherson there was a conference “The environmental awareness building of young people - it is a way rational using of natural resources and saving of the outside world”, in which the schools teachers, nursery teachers and students of the Kherson Educational Institutions took part. The City Department of Education and the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry were organizers of this event.  

The conference represents a result of regarding ecology work, which was realized throughout the year by secondary and preschool educational institutions. This is a research and development investigation of students, methodological development of teachers, contests, promotions ecological outreach, brain-ring, ecological exhibition and various actions.

Among the speakers there were not only teachers but the students of a high school. So, Vladislav Kusnetsov, the student of the secondary school №30, showed the project “Small wind energy - the main source of energy providing for environmentally clean production”.

The representatives of the Institute of Irrigated Agriculture and the company DANON joined to the participation. Deputy Director, Yuriy Lavrinenko, told about the realized work in breeding and genetics of crops. For the first rime on irrigated lands of southern Ukraine, for grain production, evidence-based model of high-yielding varieties of wheat was developed. New promising sorts, competitive, ensuring sustainable harvest of high-quality grain in the arid steppe zone, were created too. Anna Rudyk, the HR manager of the DANON Company, told about the benefits of milk products and their role in healthy eating. We are glad to note, that the DANON Company has a very active position in promotion of the responsible attitude to the environment and a healthy lifestyle.

There were very interesting performances of Kherson school teachers, concerning the creation of “green classes”, development of ecological route, non-standard topics of extracurricular activities, used as methods of schoolchildren ecological culture formation.

During the conference, Vice-President of Kherson CCI Sergey Kocherzhenko and Deputy Mayor Sergey Cherevko rewarded with certificates and gifts the winners of various categories, passed during the 2014.
