On February 23, in Kherson city, the annual Agrarian Conference was held, devoted to the problems of agricultural products sales, new technologies for agricultural products processing and the urgent issues of entrepreneurial agrarian activity. The main objectives are to find efficient channels for agricultural products selling and expend to new markets, to introduce new technologies and equipment, including guidance for the production during marketing year 2017/18 and prices for fruit and vegetable products. Among the other goals there were introducing the safety and quality systems for agricultural products too, establishment of business contacts, information exchange, improvement of investment and innovation climate in the region, improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of investment sources.

In total, the conference was attended by more than 450 people, including representatives of executive authorities and local self-government, science and education, representatives of business entities and agricultural enterprises, heads of farms, representatives of processing enterprises, agricultural producers, suppliers and potential buyers.

At the invitation of both the governor of Kherson region Andriy Gordeyev and the Kherson Chamber of Commerce representatives of other countries took part in the Conference.

Thus, Iran was represented by a delegation of businessmen and officials from the province of Alborz, headed by the President of the Alborz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rahim Bana Molai and the Minister of Agriculture of the province Majid Mousavi, as well as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of IRI in Ukraine Mohammad Beheshti-Monfared.

The leaders of the international law firm Gaetano and Andrea Longo, as well as the owner and director of PigoSrl, one of the world's leading manufacturers of freezers and supplier of industrial equipment for processing vegetables and fruits, Goran Obradovich presented Italy at the Conference.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine was represented by Dmitry Pankratov, Business and Trade Coordinator.

Director of Regional Trade Department of “GOMSELMASH” LLC Dmytro Kryuchkov featured the presentation of one of the most powerful producers of agricultural machinery in Gomel, Republic of Belarus.

The Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine was represented by its Vice-President Victor Sheremeta. Oleh Yukhnovsky, chairman of the Entrepreneur Agricultural Committee, took part in the events in the name of UCCI.

The plenary session was attended by representatives of leading analytical companies and projects of international technical assistance, agricultural machinery producers, agricultural enterprises and wholesale market leaders. Thus, Tetyana Getman, an expert on the fruit and vegetable market of Eastern Europe and the head of the Info-Shuvar Information Center provided practical recommendations on the output of Kherson products farmers to the markets of European countries.

At the conclusion of the plenary session, there was signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Kherson Regional State Administration and the Entrepreneur Agricultural Committee at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.

The practical part of the Conference was devoted to the actual issues of agricultural lands use, which were considered by the participants of the round table organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Kherson CCI and the Association of Farmers and Landowners of Ukraine. Among the aroused issues there were changes in legislation, land raidering, land bank regulation, etc.

All the participants of the Conference also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition "Farmer-2017", as well as to negotiate and conclude supply contracts for their products.
