2011.10.14-15 – Participation of the Kherson CCI in the XI International Economic Forum
Due to its history and location during many years the city of Lviv has been remaining not only the national cultural, educational and scientific center, but also one of the most important business centers of Ukraine. It is the 10th consecutive year when the International Economic Forums are held in Lviv Region. The events are visited by many governmental, official delegations from Ukraine and countries of Western and Central Europe, Russia, Canada, USA, Japan. The representatives of domestic and foreign business, academic and political leaders take an active part in the Forum. It is 10 years since Lviv International Economic Forum has become a powerful national and international platform for highly professional open discussion of important issues of the competitiveness of regions, their growth and strategic development.
This year the Forum was held in Truskavets within October, 14 – 15 under the slogan “Economic Integration – National Priorities”. The event was organized by Lviv Regional State Administration and Lviv Regional Council in partnership with Lviv and Truskavets City Councils. The Forum was attended by leaders of Eastern European countries, regional leaders, leading experts, investors and businessmen. The Kherson CCI was represented by Vice-president Mr. Serhiy Kocherzhenko.


After the welcome speech by Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Mr. Mykhailo Tsymbalyuk, the work of the plenary session was opened by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mr. Borys Kolesnikov. Further on, the word passed to Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Mr. Anatoliy Blyznyuk. Head of the State Investments and National Projects Management Agency Mr. Vladyslav Kaskiv, moderating the plenary, spoke about investment reform and realization of national projects. In the second part of the day the work of the Forum was organized within two sessions: “Ensuring economic stability. Finance, Investments, Infrastructure” and “Modern Models of Cross-border Cooperation, Strategic Planning and Regional Development”. On October, 15 the participants of the Forum discussed current models of cross-border cooperation and regional development, urgency of creating the centers of economic activity for local capacity development as well as realization of National project “Olympic Hope 2022”.
The main topics proposed for consideration within the Forum covered on the national priorities of economic policy, economic growth, investment and infrastructure development, modern models of cross-border cooperation, strategic planning and regional development.
Rich academic and research part of the Forum was followed by diverse cultural program, providing musical performances of Ukrainian folklore ensembles, amatory art groups, recitals and several exhibitions.
