2010.12.17 – Problems of determining the country of origin of the goods being exported to EU and CIS

An informational and educational seminar on the topic “Urgent problems of determination of the country of origin of the goods being exported to EU and CIS countries” initiated by the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry in close collaboration with the Kherson Customs Office and held in the conference-hall on December 17, 2010.

Experts of the Kherson CCI informed the participants about the procedure of determining the country of origin of goods in accordance with current international free trade agreements signed between the Government of Ukraine and Governments of CIS and EU countries.

During the seminar, representatives of the Kherson Customs Office spoke about the International Commercial Terms Incoterms 2000 and their impact on goods pricing as well as on the procedure of certificates of origin verification. In addition, the participants of the seminar were informed about the prospects of electronic goods declaration introduction in Ukraine.

47 representatives of manufacturing enterprises, exporting companies and customs brokers coming from both Kherson and Kherson region participated in the seminar.

The event arose great interest and gained many positive responses from the participants engaged in foreign economic activities, because the information presented is highly relevant and useful.

The seminar was lectured by leading specialists of the Kherson Customs Office and the Kherson CCI, Head of the Customs valuation and classification of goods department Mr. Volodymyr Yeremenko, Chief Inspector of Issue sector of Customs payment administration department Mr. Evgen Boyko, Leading Inspector of Information work and customs statistics department Mr. Dmytro Ivanchikov and First Vice-President, Head of Expert examination and certification department of the Kherson CCI Mrs. Valentyna Udod.

This and similar events, held in 2010 on the initiative of the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supported by the Kherson Customs Office will obviously contribute much to the development of foreign economic activity in the Kherson region.
