January 10, 2014, in Kiev, President of the KCCI Victoria Ostroumova had a meeting with Head of Economic and Trade Department of Hungarian Embassy to Ukraine Victor Berki. During the meeting parties stressed out the importance of support and extension of economic, industrial and scientific – technical cooperation between Kherson regional and Hungarian companies, of attracting mutual investments into the priority industries, transport, and agrarian sphere. Prospects for arranging co-operative activities were also discussed.

Republic of Hungary is one of the strategic partners of Ukraine; particularly strong trade and economic relations have been carried out between Kherson local and Hungarian companies for a long time. In the period of September 16-17, 2013, delegation from Hungarian province Zala visited Kherson. Headed by Victor Berki, the delegation included representatives of enterprises from different spheres of activity and the leadership of Zala Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Hungarian – Ukrainian CCI. It bears mentioning that Cooperation Agreement between Kherson CCI and Zala CCI has been in force since 2006.

During the meeting Mrs. Ostroumova and Mr. Berki also discussed possibilities of arranging a Ukrainian – Hungarian business–mission in 2014, as well as further exchange of business information of mutual interest in order to facilitate the contact development between Kherson Region and Hungarian enterprises.
